Medical Expenses And Evaluations
- Covers all reasonable and necessary medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered injury or illness, including transportation to and from the place of treatment and any prosthetic devices or other equipment needed to assist the employee in returning to work.
- Covers the cost of medical evaluations and examinations necessary to determine the nature and extent of an employee’s injury or illness.
Wage Replacement And Permanent Disability Benefits
- Provides wage replacement benefits, usually equal to two-thirds of the employee’s average weekly wage, if an employee is unable to work as a result of a covered injury or illness.
- Provides permanent disability benefits, based on the degree of the employee’s permanent disability and the employee’s average weekly wage at the time of the injury or illness, if an employee is permanently disabled as a result of a covered injury or illness.
Vocational Rehabilitation And Temporary Total Disability (TTD) Benefits
- Provides vocational rehabilitation benefits to help the employee return to work by providing training, education, or other services if an employee is unable to return to their usual work as a result of a covered injury or illness.
- Provides Temporary Total Disability (TTD) benefits, paid until the employee is able to return to work or until a permanent disability is determined, if an employee is temporarily unable to work as a result of a covered injury or illness.
Death Benefits
- If an employee is killed as a result of a covered injury or illness, the DBA provides death benefits to the employee’s dependents and covers reasonable funeral expenses up to a certain limit.
